How to Flare Perfect Joints
- Use the included pipe cutter to cut the copper or aluminium tube to your desired length. Ensure the cut is perfectly square.
- Thoroughly ream the inside edge of the tube using the deburring tool. Point the tube downwards while reaming to ensure swarf falls out, preventing system contamination.
- Insert the tube into the corresponding hole on the flaring bar. The tube should protrude slightly (approx. 1-2mm) above the face of the block.
- Slide the eccentric flaring yoke over the bar and align the arrows. Tighten the side clamp securely.
- Turn the main handle clockwise. The eccentric cone will roll the flare. Continue turning until the clutch clicks freely, indicating a perfect 45-degree flare has been formed.
- Unscrew the yoke, remove the tube, and inspect the flare for a smooth, even seating surface.
